Dungeon Lootr Forge, Aspects, and Gear Score

The Forge is the quiet half of Dungeon Lootr. Classes get the trailers. Gear Score is what actually lets a class finish Boss Rush. If you spin Azure Devil and then never upgrade the Wolf Ring, you will still bounce off Varek, the Feared. This page is the lobby loop: upgrade, reforge, Aspect, Merchant, and what to do with the stones from codes.

Talk to the Forge NPC in town. The menu is labeled FORGE. Select a piece, confirm Iron Scrap, Gold Ore, or later Infernal Ore plus Coins, and hit Upgrade. Level and Gear Score both tick up. That is the whole happy path. Everything else is damage control.

What Gear Score is measuring

Gear Score is the combat-strength number on your equipped set. It is not a hidden MMR. It is the sum of upgraded gear plus the class you brought. The Guide NPC will say the same thing in fewer words. Raise it by upgrading pieces you intend to wear, not by hoarding Celestial weapons in Inventory.

Starter Compensation’s Tidemaker Katana is a legitimate first upgrade target. Rings from Bandit’s Den (Wolf Ring, Copper Ring) are the second. Stop upgrading a Rare plate the moment a Hard drop from Goblin’s Stronghold beats it. Materials are the bottleneck, not the button.

Forge Stones and Reforge Stones

Codes hand out bundles of both. Forge Stones skip or amplify the upgrade cost depending on the current patch language — the FORGESKIP code is literally named for that job. Reforge Stones reroll a piece you like as a base but hate as a stat line. Do not reforge a junk white item. Do not forge-skip a slot you are about to replace.

A practical order after redeeming 4KFAV or FORGESKIP:

1. Identify the three pieces with the worst stats on your current build.
2. Upgrade the one that already rolled the correct stat (Strength on a melee, Intelligence on Witch Gunner).
3. Reforge the one that rolled Vitality when you needed Dexterity.
4. Leave the third alone until the next dungeon drop.

Selling junk at SELL SHOP funds Coins. Infernal Ore never goes in the sell tab. Gold Keys exist to find more of it behind gated gold chests.

Aspect Gems

Aspect Gems are rare. Codes (NEWASPECT, GIVEMEGEMSPLEASE) and drops both feed the stack. Using a gem rolls a random passive onto the currently equipped class:

Umbral, Sanguine, Tempest, Phantom, Ruin, Alacrity, Blaze, Glaciel.

That list is why you do not roll on tutorial Ronin. Equip the class you will still be wearing in a week — Azure Devil if you are on the Awakened Devil EX route, Honored One if you already got the Boss Rush drop — then tap Use. The trait stays with that class, not with your account-wide hotbar.

If the roll is a dud, you wait for another gem. There is no published pity for Aspects. The spin-odds tool is for class rarity, not for these traits.

Merchant, not a second Forge

The Merchant sells armor for Coins. Hollow Knight’s Plate at 4K is the example listing. Buy to fill a hole. Do not buy to feel busy. Coins also gate Unrestricted (500,000) and Awakened Devil EX (1,000,000), which is a better home for a pile of gold than a cosmetic plate. See unlock routes.

Crafts at the Forge are a different tab from upgrades. Honored One, Cursed King, and Anti Magic each cost 50 boss fragments. The NPC shows the count. If the craft button is grey, you are in the upgrade tab or you are short.

Inventory hygiene

Starter Compensation, code bundles, keys, and gems all live under Inventory → All. Filter mistakes are how people “lose” a Celestial katana. After every extract, before every spin, glance at All.

Daily quests pay extra Coins and stones. Do the Ronin dailies, then swap. Battle pass is a parallel track — it does not replace Forge math.

Until then, the rule is boring: upgrade the piece you will still wear on Frostspire, reforge the piece with the wrong stat, and never Aspect a class you plan to bench.
